Health Exchange

NexJ Health Exchange enables organizations to create and extend a Health Information Exchange. It is a robust, flexible solution that provides open, standards-based interoperability between proprietary and standards-based health information systems (HIS), Electronic Medical Records (EMR), and Health Information Exchanges (HIE). With NexJ Health Exchange, organizations can gain complete access to accurate clinical information immediately so they can meet essential Stage 1 Meaningful Use objectives now and lay a foundation for meeting additional Meaningful Use objectives in the future.

NexJ Health Exchange connects hospitals, physicians, specialists, laboratories, and payers

NexJ Health Exchange is the fastest, most flexible, and most cost-effective way to achieve interoperability and stand up an HIE. It enables organizations to:

  • Integrate Health Data from Multiple Health Information Systems
Using the connectivity provided by NexJ Universal Health Connector, NexJ Health Exchange flexibly integrates health information from disparate legacy and proprietary health information systems and health information exchanges to enable interoperability between electronic health records (EHR).
  • Access and Store Data in Registries and Repositories
The NexJ EHR Server provides the ability to access health information stored in authorized registries and clinical data repositories. NexJ EHR Server can also provide registry and repository services as part of NexJ Health Exchange.
  • Standards-based Data Exchange
NexJ Health Exchange provides easy to use tools for mapping clinical interfaces using data standards. Organizations can leverage pre-built adapters for IHE profiles, the National Health Information Network (NHIN) Connect Gateway and HL7v2 and v3, to ensure their systems can exchange data quickly and effectively.
  • Access Comprehensive Patient Data at the Point of Care
Through the NexJ Provider Portal, providers can access the patient’s complete medical record at the point of care.
  • Credential Physicians and Healthcare Professionals
Through NexJ Provider Credentialing, healthcare organizations can ensure all healthcare practitioners have the qualifications, insurance, and authorization to practice at one or more facilities.
  • Provide Patients with Access to Consolidated Health Information
Through the NexJ Patient Portal, patients can access their personal health record to view interactions with all members of their care team over time.

Organizations can use NexJ Health Exchange to build an HIE or, in cases where an HIE is already in place, extend the existing HIE to integrate with additional systems, support new standards and terminologies, and provide management tools to ensure complete traceability of information exchange across all connected systems.

Unlike other HIE solutions, NexJ Health Exchange is:

  • Fast to implement
Built on a Model-Driven Engineering platform, NexJ Health Exchange reduces the time and effort required to design and deploy an operational HIE. Its graphical toolset, modular components, and fully abstracted data model make it easy to configure as requirements evolve over time.
  • Flexible to integrate
NexJ Health Exchange provides pre-built integration adapters to enable quick integration to multiple systems. It supports web services and message-based integration and includes pre-built standards for IHE Profiles, HL7 Messaging (v2 and v3), CDA Document Creation, NHIN, and Auditing (ATNA profile). Even if organizations already have an existing HIE solution, they can layer NexJ Health Exchange on top of multiple, disparate HIEs and health information systems, to create one end-to-end provider solution.
  • Cost-effective
NexJ Health Exchange uses open technology and runs on low cost commodity hardware and software so you can leverage your existing investments and layer our solution on top of your disparate health information systems to provide a comprehensive view of the patient across the continuum of care.

Furthermore, organizations can extend the functionality of their NexJ Health Exchange-enabled HIE by using the value-added, patient-centered capabilities of NexJ Connected Wellness. By leveraging the seamlessly integrated web and mobile applications for  Health Coaching, Chronic Disease Management, and Disease Screening, organizations can engage patients in their own health and wellness and allow them to collaborate effectively with their providers across the continuum of care.
